The Scrip/Warrant Acts of March 3, 1855 (10 stat. 701) and March 18, 1842 (5 stat. 607) authorized the issuance of scrip as payment for military or other service. This scrip could be used to purchase federal land. These documents were transferrable and often sold for cash. Approximately 210 such claims were granted in Jackson County.
At this time our library can only provide township maps and related area maps along with the complimentary BLM legal descriptions. Follow this link, Land Patents Index to return to the Land Patents index web page. |
