JCGL volunteers collect birth records from the Jackson County Courthouse and birth announcements from the
Ashland Tidings,
Democratic Times,
Medford Mail Tribune, and
Upper Rogue Independent newspapers. The library has indexed volumes of county birth records for 1863-1910, indexed image files containing abstracted county birth records from 1911-1926, and indexed volumes of birth announcements for various year ranges from 1876 onward. Indexes were prepared by different volunteers at different times, so their formats vary somewhat. Follow the links below to display the indexes to these volumes and image files. The links are grouped by the titles on our volumes.
If you find a name of interest to you in one of these indexes but are unable to visit the library, our staff will copy the relevant information for you. Just fill out a postal request form and mail it to us along with a check for $10. Be sure to include the referenced name, the volume year or year range, and the page reference(s) for that name. There is a link to the request form at the top of each index.
Alternatively, make a secure online payment and your request using the form on the page containing the index . The requested record will be emailed to you as a .jpg attachment. When you click on the attachment, it will be loaded into your picture viewer from which you can print a hard copy. The procedure is outlined on the page containing the index.
